Actually, I've forgotten my password, I lost it. Last week, for twenty minutes going through bits of paper, sticky notes and the inside file folders to find my password to a membership site I created two weeks ago. I could not find it. How can I make money online I'm losing time looking to capture passwords? Since then, I spent more time looking for lost passwords when I should be looking for ways to make money online.

Has this happened to you too? I tried to stay organized, but there are places and things so great What I do online with a home based business that is easy to get lost in the maze of information.

One thing I know for sure is that it is much easier to make money online if it is organized and efficient. Of Indeed, I tried to create a system for remembering my passwords. I have a folder in my filing cabinet called "Passwords". At one point last year typed and printed some of the passwords you use often. Besides that, keep those bits of paper and sticky notes in the folder also and write in the typewritten page by hand, as I believe the new passwords. That's a start.

But I realized this morning, after twenty minutes of searching, I need a place to store all the passwords so they never waste my time again.
And I have to create a backup, too, so I have never lost another password.

I am happy to say that I have a plan and would like to share with you.

Here are 10 simple steps to organize your passwords for all:

1. Make a commitment to yourself to spend an hour to organize your passwords.

2. Open away from your desk and stretch each piece of paper with a password or a link in it.

3. Organize according to the categories: Money, WebBiz, etc.

4. Opening an Excel spreadsheet and type a category in the top cell in a different page for each category. Each separate page is devoted to a category.

5. Then, put a different color at the bottom of each category cell. The font color is black and the background is the color.
(I like to sort things by color. It's easy to group.)

Here are some of my categories:

Money - Green.
This category includes online banking, credit cards, Paypal, Clickbank, cbengine, Commission Junction, paydotcom.com, adsense, etc.
Anything related to bring me money.

E-mail Accounts - Yellow
E-mail, computer passwords, Twitter, Blogger, Wordpress, etc.

Web Biz - Purple
This includes hosting accounts, domain accounts, software, training programs and any Internet business information and home business sites.

Social Networking - Blue
Twitter, Facebook, Digg, etc

Staff - Orange
Airlines, Amtrak, Expedia, Amazon, Orbitz, AAA, AT & T, etc.

6. Then, make columns for each page:
Location (URL) Username Password Hint / Pin

7. Then take a break.

8. Back from the break, take time to find all the information you have for each category. (In less than an hour for me to write this information in cells.)

9. Create a folder marked Passwords. File> Save.

10. Print a copy to keep in a folder on the desktop.

Now you can simply add new or remove old passwords and place new ones in the right space.

Believe me, this feels great! I the printout in the old folder in my cabinet. I pulled all the debris and sticky notes. Everything is new and clean. As I create more accounts with passwords, I'll just change it digital copy in hand and add to the printout. Finally, I will print a fresh copy of my password list.

Make a commitment to do this for yourself. Take a little time, but will save you time and frustration in the future.

You'll thank yourself in the morning!
